Julia Lesselyong is a licensed clinical psychologist. She obtained her masters degree and doctor of psychology at University of the Rockies in Colorado Springs. She completed an internship at the Institute on Aging in San Francisco, CA. She worked at the San Francisco Veterans Administration working on research related dementia and mental health in older adults. She has worked administering neuropsychological testing to diagnostic clarification for people with cognitive impairment.For the past 7 years, she has been the Clinical Director of Behavioral Health at numerous Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing facilities developing and operating programs for people with dementia related behavioral problems and serious mental illness who have not been able to live safely in less restrictive environments. The primary focus of her practice is to develop programs and train staff on utilizing non-pharmcological approaches to behavioral management for older adults in long term care.
